2 Corinthians 5:7
* For we walk by faith, not by sight.
First I will start off by asking a few simple questions ….
1.) Do you SEE oxygen?
2.) Do you SEE your emotions?
3.) Do you SEE love?
The answer to each of those questions is simply “no”.
We don’t see oxygen but yet without it we wouldn’t exist. We need it to survive. We depend on something we can’t see, but as long as we are breathing, oxygen is doing its job.
We don’t see our emotions, but we surely feel them. Imagine if we had thought bubbles that we couldn’t control and everyone could see (including ourselves) what our emotions truly were. We can FEEL happy, we can FEEL sad, we can FEEL …. But we can’t see it.
We don’t see love, but again, we feel it. It can turn our worlds upside down (good or bad), and we never see it coming. It’s just there. It just happens.
My point is this …. I believe in God. I have believed in Him since as far back as I can remember. But guess what? I can’t see Him. I see His miracles though and I feel His presence. An argument that so many have when it comes to God is, “How do you believe in something you can’t even see?” Well, let’s go back to the questions I asked. How do you believe in oxygen? Emotions? Love?
Just like with anything life offers us, faith in God can be absolutely amazing, but it can be scary, too. Let me explain ….
Believing in God is amazing to me because I know that I am never alone. (Deuteronomy 31:6-8
* Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.)
The scary part is handing my worries over and having faith it will all work out. That becomes easier with time, but it can still be scary. Especially if you are like me and like to know what’s going on in your own life and how the problem(s) will be solved sooner rather than later, and yet with faith – You have to just let it go.
By no means am I an expert on God – This topic at hand was weighing heavy on my heart and I needed to release it. Hoping it
will get to someone the way it got to me.
Believing in God has always been apart of me; however, He and I have a much stronger bond now. I stopped trying to run away and solve everything on my own. Not only did I hand God my worries and fears, but I handed Him my heart. It takes faith to trust someone you can’t even see with every ounce of who you are.
I will end this by saying (as always) I love to love you …. And ….
“Just because you can’t see it doesn’t mean it isn’t there. You can’t see the future, yet you know it will come; you can’t see the air, yet you continue to breathe.”
